Chicken Little hacks Weather Channel’s Twitter feed, freaks out followers!/Delaware_Dolfan/status/330044327457869824

Don’t take shelter just yet — the Weather Channel has since cleaned up its “Hurricane Central” feed, but a series of alerts had at least a few followers on edge before they realized something wasn’t quite right.

@twc_hurricane Well this is sort of awkward… are you sure you meant to send these tweets?…

Woopsie, @twc_hurricane just tweeted the fastest hurricane development e-ver. Ha

Looks [email protected]twc_hurricane: is getting ready for the upcoming season, but posting old tweets…LOL

— Bob Johnson (@JaxFountain) May 2, 2013

@bryanwx @twc_hurricane Ha ha it looks like someone accidentally posted a crap ton of drafted tweets that never got deleted.

— MAD US Weather (@MADUSWX) May 2, 2013

were the six consecutive tweets from @twc_hurricane eyebrow-raising to anyone else?

— Taylor Miller Thomas (@taystheMVP) May 2, 2013

Floods, record snow, then fires. Now @twc_hurricane is tweeting about hurricanes.

— Brian Knight (@outdoortype) May 2, 2013

And then they were gone. Good catch @twc_hurricane.

— Brian Knight (@outdoortype) May 2, 2013

Yo, @twc_hurricane , fix yourself.

— Ileana Llorens (@illorens) May 2, 2013

Other cable stations can get away with showing reruns, but the Weather Channel’s retrospective didn’t go over well.

@twc_hurricane You might want to stop tweeting bunk info about hurricanes.

— John Keyes (@jkeyeser) May 2, 2013

Ok anyone know why @twc_hurricane is tweeting old hurricane advisories??
