The 3rd annual “Global Citizen Festival” to bring awareness to world poverty is being held today in New York City’s Central Park, complete with MSNBC’s finest as hosts and special music guests. Like Carrie Underwood!

.@alexwagner & @chrislhayes watching @carrieunderwood's set at the #GlobalCitizenFestival. Are you tuned in?

New York City mayor Bill de Blasio was there, too. When’s the “Global Groundhog Festival” we wonder?

We can be the generation to end extreme poverty. We just need to summon the strength to do it. #GlobalCitizenFestival

— Bill de Blasio (@BilldeBlasio) September 27, 2014

Will “de Blasio killed a groundhog” jokes ever get old? We hope not.

President Obama even attended — via video:

Via video because he was golfing today:

How does golfing fit in with world poverty? Oh, well … what do we know.

With that said, ladies and gentleman, start the mocking!

Not creepy at all. RT @digimuller: President Obama delivers a message to attendees at #GlobalCitizenFestival. @msnbc

I wonder if progressives ever get tired of utterly meaningless moral posturing. #GlobalCitizenFestival

My dog won't take his eyes off @carrieunderwood on the tv. Can't say I blame him. #GlobalCitizenFestival

I would have gone to the #GlobalCitizenFestival but alas, I have no trust fund.
